The Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts will be holding a special exhibition to commemorate its reopening on March 1, 2025.
The Osaka Municipal Museum of Fine Arts’ collection, which mainly consists of Japanese and Oriental art, has been continuously expanded since it opened on May 1, 1936 (Showa 11) to the present day, and now consists of approximately 8,700 items.
This exhibition will dedicate all floors of the museum to the special exhibition, and will display approximately 250 carefully selected works from various genres, including painting, calligraphy, sculpture, lacquer work, metalwork, and ceramics. In addition to the museum’s representative masterpieces, we will also interweave some rare pieces that have not been introduced much until now, to convey the “unchanging charm and new charm” of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Fine Arts. Please enjoy reunions and new encounters with the Osaka Municipal Museum of Fine Arts and its works.
