More Information: Since ancient times, the beautiful forms of a wide variety of birds have been popular subjects for painting, and flower and bird paintings have established themselves as a major subject, with many paintings depicting birds flying through the sky, standing by water or in fields, or perched on trees. Birds are also featured in waka and haiku poems, and many crafts have been created with birds as their motif. This is because birds are symbols of good fortune, representing longevity and prosperity, and also represent the changing of the seasons.
”Itsuo” Kobayashi Ichizo was born in the year of the rooster, and as such, he has collected many works related to birds. This exhibition will display bird-related works from the collection, allowing visitors to see a wide variety of birds. Many of the works will be rarely exhibited, so please come and enjoy some bird watching in the exhibition room.
