More Information：Dōrakutei is a rakugo theater with a capacity of 100 people, located right next to the Osaka Metro “Dobutsuen-mae” Station.
Katsura Beichō, who was designated a Living Human Treasure and became the first person in the world of Rakugo to receive the Order of Culture. Dōrakutei is a traditional comedy theater founded in 2008 by Katsura Zakoba, a disciple of Katsura Beichō, who gained popularity as a rakugo storyteller and TV personality.
Dōrakutei is one of the few authentic rakugo theaters remaining today, where performers and audiences sit close together, allowing you to enjoy the raw power of unamplified voices and traditional musical accompaniment.
The Dōrakutei Matinee Performance is a rakugo-only performance held from the 1st to the 20th of every month, starting at 2:00 PM.
The performers and the order of their appearances change daily, and the program is a surprise on the day of the show. Please enjoy a rakugo performance featuring a unique lineup that can only be experienced on that particular day.
“Kamigata Rakugo” is a traditional performing art that Osaka takes great pride in.
