More Information:When you think back to the historical figures depicted in your textbooks during class as a student, who comes to mind? Among the many great figures, many will likely recall the portraits of three figures who shaped the course of history, starting with Oda Nobunaga, known as the Three Great Heroes of the Warring States period, followed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Among these, Hideyoshi, whose portrait is frequently featured in textbooks and films, is housed at the Itsuo Art Museum. However, surprisingly, little is known about where or who owns these portraits and photographs.

This exhibition will introduce familiar works from the museum’s collection that you may have seen somewhere before, including works you’ve seen in books, television, and exhibitions held in various locations, along with their highlights. Whether it’s your first time seeing them or a work you haven’t seen in a while, we hope you’ll find your favorite piece.
