Daimaru Shinsaibashi New Main Building
The former main building of the Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store, designed by architect William Merrell Vories, was completed in 1933, during what was then known as the “Great Osaka” Era (1933-1989). After four years of renovations, the new main building opened in 2019 with both the exterior walls and interior being preserved and recreated in Vories’ distinct architectural style.
