Titled \u201cSpectacular Views: A Showdown at the Summit,\u201d the exhibition highlights the achievements of these two masters. Hokusai, approximately 40 years older than Hiroshige, began producing works themed around the T\u014dkaid\u014d earlier than his counterpart. His deep interest in landscape painting culminated in his masterpiece, Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. Around the same time that Hokusai was working on this series, Hiroshige published The Fifty-three Stations of the T\u014dkaid\u014d\u2014the work that brought him international recognition\u2014through the publisher Hoeid\u014d.
